Native SIP VoIP Calls on the Galaxy Nexus

Google's always been in a bit of a tough situation when it comes to VoIP calling and its support for SIP standards. A few years back as an outsider, they had every incentive to disrupt the market and break the monopoly of the carriers. It introduced new innovative services like Google Voice and made their intentions to be a major player in the space very plain. But then something happened - Android. The eruption of the smartphone market made it necessary for Google to play a big role in its shaping and this required the cooperation of the carriers. After all, it's no secret that the carriers hold all the cards in the US.
This naturally creates a conflict of interest and what was once simply a matter of bludgeoning ahead is now more complex. It's not in Android's best interests to piss off the carriers since they're the ones who make the choice of deciding which operating system their phones will carry. Naturally products such as Google Voice don't make them too happy. We've seen before how Google seems to be toying with a great feature only to pull the plug on it later on.
An example of such a feature was providing every Google Voice user with an SIP address. This would have been a killer service for the millions of GV users out there to make and receive calls via their Internet connection. It could have start an avalanche effect and really got the ball rolling. But that feature was later pulled and SIP addresses no longer connect to Google Voice accounts.
One can only assume that Google is afraid of pissing the carriers off. Android is certainly the dominant OS in the market but it's not yet unassailable. The scales are tilted in its favor but iOS poses a strong threat and other competitors like Windows OS are just waiting to jump in. A few more years should cement Android's lead and create enough brand recognition that users will be able to demand it from their carriers. Once that happens, there's little reason for Google to hold back its moves to further disrupt the telecom industry.
Proof of Google's intentions lies in the fact that it allows users to store the SIP addresses as part of the contact details and users can choose to make outgoing calls using them rather than the traditional phone network. Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich both have an in built SIP client which allows native SIP calls. It's a sign of things to come. Let's just hope we don't have to wait too long for it.

Need VoIP - you have a landline phone?

With the advent of mobile phones, you might think that landline phones of the past have become. This is however not true. Here are some reasons why you're still a landline phone, especially if your landline phone comes with VoIP telephony.
VoIP phone service is cheaper for most calls
Sure, you need a land phone just for convenience, it offers you. With a portable phone call you when you want, wherever you are. Just plug it in your purse or bag, or clip it onto your belt, and you're good to go.
If you would like, however, is that long distance call to make, or if you need to make an international call, VoIP service with much, much cheaper. Most providers offer "a fee" you unlimited monthly plan with nah-and long-distance services in the United States can call. International fees, also are very reasonable and are much cheaper than the one you would pay if you used your cell phone.
She'll avoid surpluses on cell phone minutes by more calls through your VoIP phone service
It is certainly true that a mobile phone is a convenient way to call, and there are times when you simply need to make a call on your mobile phone, because you're. However, if you avoid calling on your phone, and your call if it is absolutely essential when you get home and can save telephone provided by your VoIP service your country on the basis, you save your valuable mobile phone plan minutes and is not paying bonuses. You might also be able, your cell phone plan you a notch (saves money) tap by fewer calls, and more on your country phone be.
There are fewer failures
With your VoIP phone service, it is certainly true that occasionally, if your Internet is going to go your telephone service. However, this is becoming less and less often as technology improves. Not so with your mobile phone. You have somewhere already where you absolutely necessary, but could make a phone call, it is not because to get service? This happens with VoIP. Since you have always a connection, you can make a call to always, whenever you want.
The quality is much better
With VoIP call quality is crystal clear. If you have service, if you use your mobile phone, is probably also certainly true; poor quality sound, lost calls, lost calls and no services are however common issues with most cell phone carriers. They find that with your VoIP service and expect they make calls if you need.
You need to make to forget, recharge your mobile phone
As long as you are leave times, if you don't use it at home in the cradle at all your phone, you'll never have a dead cell phone which is useless for calls. In contrast to your mobile phone have to you because think, recharge it. You reset it simply to its cradle when you're done with it, and you have always a phone that works.

PBX-Systeme für kleine Büros

PBX systems for small offices
Small business PBX systems are key to economic efficiency and unified communications between offices. There are six different advantages with a PBX system for a small company, as described below.
# 1 Go global.
The ability, several small branches and they unify as "a big Office" is a low-cost measure which must not be overlooked. A small business has two or three branches in various sections, which can be accessed not local calling, the savings can be huge. In addition, even a small business at the global level by their ally offices, national and international to compete can a PBX system.

Small businesses save lots of money on building cost and insurance, by you your employees telecommuting. Also about going green, you can allow their employees, telecommuting boast. Small business PBX systems can connect, contractors, consultants and work-at-home employees connected through extensions, save time and money.
# 3 Internal quality control.
Since a PBX system is maintained can internally, quality of calls and logistical considerations be treated all internally and, if a small business "it even can do", means that they save money, not from external sources depend. In addition, if something goes wrong what everything is internally treated usually means that money is saved, since no external consultants or service workers use.
# 4 HardWire cost-effectiveness.
Simply put, working installation of a PBX system with the Internet Setup that already exists - so no new wiring must be installed. Even a new parallel system is inexpensive, relatively speaking - because a limited amount of installation, which is to be reached.
Reduce maintenance costs # 5.
Since IP-PBX works on a single network, means that there is no additional maintenance costs for two separate systems. Traditional telephone and IP system work in separate networks - linguistic and data - would be abolished with the installation of PBX for a small business.
# 6 Costs be reduced changes.
If an office moves, or new employees or desks and offices are turned off, the cost of a conventional PBX can move are exorbitant. Not so with a PBX system - the staff simply without telephone and computer, she moved to their new location, and no other changes will be needed.
PBX actually stands for private branch exchange and allows the small office to connect with each other and with external PBX. Calls within the company (regardless of where the employee lies) can reserve suddenly by an extension to be achieved. These offer huge cost savings in phone bills, as well as tele-working. Making Cheap International Calls Has Just Become Much Easier In The US And Canada

For anyone who has family and friends that live overseas keeping in touch can become a difficult challenge. But along with the technological advances and the internet the issue has become more of a breeze. With the main hurdle being the cost for many, when it comes to contacting those who live abroad. For those with an internet connection, making communication to other countries can be great and free. With voice over internet protocol (VoIP) applications such as Skype, MSN Messenger and email. There is always the ability to keep in touch.
But there will be times that both parties having to have an internet connection will be difficult. Whether something important has come up or gaining access to family and friends is urgent. Using the traditional methods such as email and Skype can become problematic. Because contact is not instant until each person views their inbox or there has been an agreed time for communicating on a daily basis for example.
Another popular communication method is via international calling codes. These can make calling other countries simple. When making calls through international calling cards or access numbers it's vital that the service on offer is able to produce clear calls regardless of the location between users. Also taking into account the reliability and also which is best to call from, a landline or mobile.
By finding the required access code that can be dialled directly into your phone whether it be landline or mobile can help avoid the current charges in place by your mobile or landline provider.
Now for everyone who live in the US and Canada it has been announced that Google+ users have continued access to Google Voice in Gmail to make free calls for another year. Google+ has managed to reach over 50 million Google+ users and continues to rise on a daily basis.
Users are said to be able to call landlines on both the US and Canada for free. To make calls all users have to do is create a Hangout and then invite any landline number. This includes the ability to call internationally with any Google Voice account. Allowing further access to cheap international calls at a very low rate. A service that is already being used by millions has help create the ability to stay in touch easier for the masses.
So if you have long lost friends living in Poland, France, Germany or any other foreign country always remember that access to cheap calls to Poland, France, Germany and many others has never been greater. With international calls becoming as low as 1¢ and 1p per minute it's difficult not to keep in touch, whenever access to the internet is perhaps limited for the other party. Satellite Internet VoIP and Satellite Telephones

Living outside of the city does have its setbacks. For one, the internet connection can be sketchy. There are still yet lots of remote areas that are not reached by a land based internet connection provider. Wires and cables are not linked to the far off towns of America. Dial-up internet connection is available for usage by someone who lives far away from the city limits. But then again, dial-up is synonymous to virtually no internet connection. There is no use connecting to the internet and waiting ages to download important documents, music files, or even play games. The most reasonable solution is to switch to an efficient Satellite VoIP broadband internet connection.
There are two varied methods of using a VOIP service today. One is the one way satellite internet connection while the other is a two way satellite internet connection.
The one way type of VOIP broadband internet connection utilizes a telephone line to handle upload requests and once the request is received, the satellite then transmits the download signal to the internet and to the computer. Because the one way Satellite VoIP uses the phone line when connecting to the internet, although it is far faster than the dial-up connection, you still cannot access the internet without using your telephone line.
At the present, a lot of people are shifting from using one way satellite to opting to subscribe to a service provider which supplies the two way VOIP solutions. This kind of system operates with a satellite dish mounted on the rooftop or any secure upper area. This satellite dish is a gadget that transmits data back and forth between the computer modem and an orbiting space satellite.
With a VOIP, the need for another telephone line or using an existing one is eliminated. One gets high speed internet service that is similar or even exceeds that of a broadband DSL internet connection. The Satellite VoIP also gets rid of the issues regarding peak times for internet access because in this satellite system, you are not sharing the same internet connection with your neighbors.
One of the many advantages of a VOIP broadband installation is that you will be able to experience the benefits of several, voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services. With a Satellite VoIP, you can communicate with family and friends wherever they may be without the burden of paying costly long distance toll charges. Actually a lot of the VoIP services are available free of charge. If some do demand payment for the subscription of the service, they do so in such huge discount rates.
Video conferencing apart from voice over calls, are also possible with the use of a VOIP internet broadband connection. Not only will you get to talk to your friends who are located overseas, you can also get to see them face to face while talking simultaneously. With this Satellite VoIP technology, you eliminate expensive long distance bills.
There is a term called latency which affects the technology of VOIP. This refers to the lag time in downloading or uploading files and documents. Nevertheless, this is a minor problem and does not relatively cause a great impact to the Satellite VoIP modern internet technology.
The Satellite VoIP and Satellite Telephones offer a lot of benefit especially to residents living outside of the city. Learn more about why you should try subscribing to this kind of internet tool. Check out Satelliteinternetvoip.Com

Phone numbers act as a "Bridge" between VoIP phones

It's amazing to think how far voice has come since it began first over a decade ago. In that time it now the biggest challenge to expand rooted telecom companies represent that examines the FCC the question of the VoIP termination fees. Without a doubt, VoIP is now an established technology. But for its success, it is a problem that keeps it back. And it has nothing to do with the Government or even the telephone company itself to do. Rather the problem lies with how regular people use their phones.
Almost every order includes a call on your cell phone and dial a number. The crucial piece of the puzzle is what VoIP is forcing companies to integrate their services with the PSTN companies. Because if someone even over the Web would like to make phone calls, is the most natural thing to do, select they want what, even if it technologically superior alternatives. This is not due to an evil plotting of an entity, to stop VoIP to come - it just the way things are.
So if we want to have two VoIP devices and they communicate with each other, everything with this number starts. A phone is useless unless it is associated with a phone number. Without one it would only who is ready, a SIP URL type in their smartphones - accessible and only pitifully few people have know this or the inclination to do that.
There are systems that can be naturally transparent rendered the whole process. I can personally get a free phone number that forwards my incoming calls to a SIP address that I want. But it is a bit sad that two people with VoIP devices must still refer to each other by a 10-digit string, is completely random and is not easily memorized. It is as if each e-Mail address to a location is bound and that we all be in the address of that location, if we send an e-Mail to each other instead only write the e-Mail ID want to
In a way, we should be grateful that the PSTN system in so neatly associated with VoIP. It's not ideal, but at least it's there. I look forward to a time when telephone numbers will be gone the way of the Dodo and we need each other in disbelief - questions, it was really a time when we called each other with a number? What on Earth?

Optimization of VoIP over WiFi

VoIP is a Web based application vulnerable for problems on the network such as delay or latency and jitter. While these problems will also affect other applications, performance cost as much as VoIP suffer none of them because it is a real time service. One down and trip delay of 300 milliseconds are very striking, and there are many things that are done to improve the response time. In this article we look at using VoIP at home and what changes can you make sure that you have an easier time to use it with your home network.
Typically, network administrators to disrupt their heads with things such as quality of service (QoS) due to the complexity of the network and the sheer volume of traffic should only business. But if you are using VoIP at home, it's time to get this terminology familiar to improve your experience. Not that it is difficult - you need only a little bit with the settings, working to ensure that everything goes well.
The idea is that it different types of Internet traffic, you will be exposed. HTTP traffic for regular Web pages, video, music and the like. As VoIP is a separate form of traffic the router can detect in the easiest way. Our task is part of the router configuration page go and tell it to prioritize IP voice traffic over any other type. How the router internally this is their business. In older router you would have probably on each and every part rules specify, but they are these days, be smart enough to do it themselves.
Also, many routers come built-in with instructions for the treatment of VoIP on a different level. If so, then it is in no harm indoor go and check, whether. The first step is to your router to access administration page. If it came with a manual, it should be within this. Otherwise enter the model number in Google and someone would have written instructions how to do this.
Navigate to the section of QoS, or quality of service, and follow you add the interface for VoIP as a high priority service. As already mentioned, the case can be already. If not, make only the changes and you're good to go! There are other advanced techniques like port forwarding, we'll look at in future articles.

Telecommunications - people to combine

What is the scenario, if there were no telecommunications in this generation? I could imagine how miserable life without the Internet would be radio and TV and cable networks, VoIP, mobile or landline. In fact, telecommunications plays a very important role to people from all over the world connect everyday life in an instant pleasant and productive.
Regardless of the position, size and economic situation of a given country, telecommunications is always considered the most powerful tool for the linking of individuals. In the past, the traditional fixed-line phone was used as a very important tool in communicating with a colleague or a family member who is a million miles away. As the years pass, innovations in technology was so aggressive and introduction of new products, day to day. But we not the power of the wire-bound telecommunications, you ignore that also continuously revolutionizes, something new to offer the public the conceptualization of the wireless technology has to have a major impact on the human race.
Now, an individual on the World Wide Web could be connected in an instant with the use of Wi-Fi broadband Internet connection. It is faster and more reliable than the usual dial-up. If you want to talk to someone, you can do it in fact, at any time, anywhere using a mobile phone. If you are always on the go, mobile phone is the best for you. You can from a simple cell phone that only talk and text features, or to an expensive unit called Smartphone, which is now the latest trend. This invention has taken the world by storm due to connect online, E-mail and enjoy social networking sites.
In the early 1980s, voice over Internet Protocol of VoIP welcomes the world with a big "Hello". It's an other genius creation, the way to a highly competitive communications rate compared to regular phone. This means that calling a family or friend who is staying in the country no longer would be expensive. These days, many people save a lot of money with the use of VoIP. Need you call frequently for personal or business affairs, this VoIP is a must-have technologically advanced product.
Wireless telecommunication has developed so quickly. There is no doubt about it. LAN technology does, and it goes further to improve its facilities to achieve perfection. For example, began a couple of decades, Internet with the use of dial-up connections. The pace was so poor. Now, surfing the net is more than fun due to asymmetric digital subscriber line or ADSL. With this new technology for communication, information could be transferred now in a Flash. ADSL is a form of DSL (digital subscriber line), that uses copper phone lines.
Connecting with special people in our lives has been never easy until telecommunications actually came. Well, telecomm's industry, with more sophisticated equipment and State-of-the-art technologies, excellent services, so that communication between and among people around the world, from all walks of life, economical and trouble free.

Taxing VoIP to Prop Up Dying PSTN Services

It's no secret that VoIP services have begun to seriously eat into the profits of telecom companies. What started off as a small nibble by a few select geeks is turning into a full fledged movement across the US. Of course that's kind of the point - to cut the telcos out of the loop completely. The rules that govern the PSTN system are old. For example, they're required to pay into a fund meant to subsidize telephone connections to out of the way places where it wouldn't normally be feasible to provide connections.VoIP companies have so far been exempt from these rules because they're not classified as telecommunication services. Instead, they're merely an extension of the Internet. Levying a tax on VoIP would be like levying a tax on email merely because it allows communication like the postal service. Unfortunately, several law makers (prodded on heavily by the telcos themselves) don't see it that way. A short while ago, California was the first state to impose a tax on VoIP services which interconnect to the PSTN systems which will go towards supporting telephone services for out of the way places.
But this is legislation that pushes the wrong way. The idea should be to make the PSTN system more like VoIP and not make VoIP more like the traditional telcos. Google's Erik Schmidt had much the same idea when asked to comment about his views regarding termination fees for VoIP. Instead of making VoIP like the PSTN system, it needs to be the other way around.
The FCC hasn't really been of much help here and are making the same mistakes. We need to get rid of this distinction between communication and other types of services and focus on the technology being used regardless of what that use is. The Internet is a monolithic technology that I can use for email, gaming, watching videos, socializing and VoIP. To single out VoIP traffic and apply special rules to it because it serves a specific need is arbitrary and illogical.
The time has come for us to rethink the way we want to lead the industry forward in terms of legislation. Telecom has been so heavily regulated as to entirely preclude new and innovative technologies from gaining a stronghold. VoIP is coming along just fine and it has a chance if not shackled by arbitrary rules and regulations which were imposed in a bygone era.

Working Abroad With Skype: Why You Are Missing Out on 90% of Its Capabilities

If you're using Skype whilst living abroad then you're almost certainly missing out on a large percentage of its capabilities.Let me guess: you use it to make free video calls with people back home. Perhaps you're sending the odd file or a quick SMS. Well these are certainly a few of the benefits, but it's capable of so much more - especially if you are working abroad in a self-employed capacity and want to communicate better with your clients.
So how can you get more out of Skype? Here are some of the best features which I use on a regular basis which can help you to get a lot more out of working with clients in other countries.

Get Your Own Online Number
This is the first thing you should use Skype for if you want to make life easier for your clients or customers back home.
With Skype you can choose the country where you want your online number to be located, and then people from that country can call you at a local rate.
Not only does it mean they don't need to know anything about Skype, but it also means they don't have to know where you are (if you're concerned about that for any reason).
I was worried about working abroad to start with because I knew that even though none of my clients were likely to mind that I was abroad, they might get a bit weird when they had to call up a foreign number.
And it would cost them more as well, which is never a great way to hold onto clients.

Voicemail
You can start using voicemail either by purchasing it individually, or by purchasing an online number in which case you will be given access to voicemail.
I love this feature because I don't need to buy an answer phone and set it up on a different line in my foreign office. You can set your own message of course, and if you are not signed into Skype all day (as I rarely am) then you will receive an email when a voicemail is left for you.

Call Forwarding
Set this up and you can get calls forwarded to a phone in the country where you are living. The great thing about this is that the person calling you won't have to pay anything apart from the price of a local call to your online number, meaning you can still take client calls even when you are away from your desk.

Subscription: Make Cheap Calls to Cellulars and Landlines
Skype makes calling cellulars and landlines cheaper. All you have to do is purchase some Skype Credit and you can call anywhere in the world, typically for less than you would pay for a standard call.
If you take out a subscription then you can make calls for even cheaper. You can choose a country which you will be making regular calls to (or opt for all of Europe or the whole world), and you can also choose a plan which covers just landlines, just cellulars, or both.
If you're going to be making lots of calls to people who are not on Skype then it makes things a lot easier. And there are often discounts on other features like online numbers when you purchase a subscription.

Screen Sharing
This is a really useful feature that hardly anyone seems to know about. But why would you want to screen share?
I find it really useful for demonstrating things to clients on my screen rather than having to rely on simply describing them. It might be a new tool that I'm using, or to highlight edits that I've made to a document.
If you've got a Mac then you can even set up group screen sharing, although to be honest I've never needed to do this myself.

'Skype to Go' Number
This is a great option for people who do not want to be tied to their computer and would prefer to just use a normal phone whilst still taking advantage of cheaper calls.
Basically, Skype will give you a number to call which will be charged at the local rate, then you can make a call to another country using Skype's rates rather than your mobile provider's.
So you can basically forget all about Skype and call any number abroad without worrying what your mobile bill will look like at the end of the month.

Get More Out of Skype
Skype has made life easier for millions of travelers and expats across the world. But if you are working abroad and want to make the most of it, try out a few of the features described above and make life easier for yourself and your clients.

So what is VoIP hosted, the old not fixed?

Because the long forgotten days of old wire Telegraph, we survived just fine with the traditional fixed network system. Some would say, if it ain't broke then don't fix. Others claim that something positive and necessary. But the fact remains the communication systems at a rapid rate now, and use are developed with the ever-growing software such as Skype, wireless is fast becoming the way to connect people. But what are the advantages, hosted VoIP actually has the old-style fixed?
VoIP takes the voice of one end of a phone, encoded data, and converts it into digital packets and transmits it over the Internet. This data is then back converted into analog signals before she reach the receiver at the other end of the call. Because it is much less hardware in this process as compared to the old fixed lines, more and more companies find hosted VoIP to be simple and inexpensive. Gone are the days, much to place devices to manage everything that requires an Internet connection and VoIP compatible phones.
Perhaps the most attractive aspect of a hosted VoIP telephony system is the amount of money, the company for their calls to save. The lack of spending on fixed-line installation, service contracts, and all the hardware makes a big difference. And VoIP are significantly cheaper than the traditional fixed network call tariffs. Overall, companies are about 40-50% savings – we are talking about potentially halving of the cost of telecommunications here! Another advantage is that additional new business phone numbers at very low cost can be added, and this may be in a matter of a few hours. The days wait up to 30 days for telephone service providers, to deliver a new number are soon to be extinct.
Hosted VoIP phones are not in one place, in contrast to conventional phones. As long as there is Internet access, the phone can be used from any location, and the same phone number keeps there everywhere where it is used. This is especially useful for employees, work from home and/or different locations. And if you have a soft phone - VoIP software, you a laptop directly on your computer - a separate listeners don't even need, all you need and a WiFi connection, and your phone number is fully operational - a great advantage for those who need to work on the road.
The fact that VoIP will mean hosted the provider network, instead of hardware in the Office of a company that it much easier restore unfortunate damage to in place equipment. The critical elements are still present, and in a matter of hours service can be as normal continued. These types of potential interruptions to their services, and the loss of business and reputation, which can result wins this level of security in companies, which are not more concerned about.
VoIP phones have a number of features, Conference calls, voicemail, call recording, and voice e mail messaging such as call transfer and transfer.
So, to return to the original question, it is clear to see that hosted VoIP has made significant improvements to the old telephone systems, companies relied on more than a century. Begins with the VoIP growth just now starting to boom, it seems as big and small, the enormous savings benefit the ideal time for companies that are made can, and stay ahead of their competitors.

VoIP and the Promise of Unified Communications

The idea of "Unified Communications" (UC) has been around for so long and encompasses such a broad variety of services that many people think of it as an abstract bloated concept, too far from reality to be meaningful. And they have a point. Many companies offer the nirvana of UC only to find that organizations just don't know how to work with it properly or do a poor job of implementing it. UC has many components and all of them have to take advantage of the synergies between them in order to provide a seamless communication experience. One good example of a UC is being able to tell when someone is available or not. A chat status of "green" merely means that the person is interacting with their system. They might be on a call and unavailable to chat, but since there's no interaction between the calling system and the chat application, they can still ignore your chat request. And this is just one of the large number of possible synergies between chat, voice, email, scheduling, and conferencing.
Of all these, VoIP is probably the heart of UC systems. It's possible for a VoIP provider to branch out into other areas and provide additional UC services far more easily than it is for others to suddenly start providing VoIP services. The complicated infrastructure, know how and configurations of VoIP systems make it the hardest link in the chain to forge. But one huge stumbling block in the UC model is the lack of integration between disparate systems. Of the various UC tools, only email has managed to seamlessly overcome this disadvantage. You can freely communicate with anyone no matter what email account you have and that's one of the reasons why email has turned out to be such a killer application.
The day we can all chat with each other regardless of which client we're using, or the day we can use VoIP to call one another without bothering about which service they're on is the time we would have taken a significant step closer to the dream of unified communications. The SIP protocol has been trying to achieve this with VoIP and has already become quite successful. But there are vested interests in the VoIP business who don't wish this integration to take place because they would rather leverage their large user base and become the de facto communication providers for everyone.
But with a bit of effort, we can achieve UC within an individual business since a standard can be enforced. And we need to start with VoIP as the backbone.
